Customer Review :
It was nice - when it worked
I purchased this treadmill after reading the good reviews it received - wish my experience could have been the same. It arrived in good condition, set up was a little difficult, but manageable. Then, I plugged it in and turned it on and nothing. No lights, no sounds, no movement. I did the troubleshooting from the website with no luck. So I called Horizon Fitness - but you can't actually talk to a person, you leave a number and they call you back. After 2 weeks of playing phone tag with the company, someone finally sent me instructions on how to take the motor cover off and check the wiring. (for future reference, email works better with this company) Turns out the main plug wasn't plugged into the components board. I plugged it in and happy day, I had a functioning treadmill. That was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday during my nominal 30 minute gentle walk, the incline control starting going crazy - put me up to 10% and wouldn't go back down. Today, I tried again and now none of the buttons work and the treadmill won't go. I pushed buttons, reset, turned off and back on, unplugged and replugged, went online and did the troubleshooting, all to no avail. This treadmill is a waste of time and money - and I'm so disappointed, because I really did like it when it worked.

Price, Features, and Stability are EXCELLENT. Overall: Buy it
I wanted to get into shape and living in Seattle, Washington we just don't have the right type of weather for a 3-4 day a week jog schedule. (Always raining) I turned to the internet and did ALL the research to find the cheapest and best reviewed treadmill. Guess what, this was it. Now I know why it was so highly reviewed too. The price on this treadmill is amazing. How can you ask for a better deal. Second, it features all of the features you can ask for. It moves up and down to simulate jogging uphill, has tons of speed settings, and tons of other great options. It goes as fast or as slow as you could ask for. (faster than I can run and I'm 17 and 6'3" 165 pounds) Finally, its stability is pretty good. Holds up great and was easy to put together. My brother is 250 pounds and runs on it and does fine. Sure, its a little small for him but he manages it. I wouldn't recommend this for a very large person however. If your over 300 pounds, definitely find a bigger one. Its not very wide and not very long but both me and my brother are 6'3" and hes fairly heavy and we both are comfortable on it. It moves around while jogging on hard wood floor so you might want to buy a mat to put under it otherwise you will be jumping off periodically to adjust its position. The only problem I noticed was that when I first started jogging some black shavings from the tread of it came off but has since stopped. Overall, buy this treadmill. It's perfect. I don't see why you would spend money on anything else.

They must have made improvements
We purchased the Merit 725T treadmill from Amazon after reading the reviews and decided that the pros outweighed the cons and that this was great for our budget. Upon arrival I was ready for the worst, as far as assembly, and decided to time how long it would take to put together. From the moment that I cut the straps on the box to the moment that I turned the machine on was 20 minutes flat. There were only 4 pages of directions to follow and roughly 20 screws/bolts to put in. While I used my own tools, this machine comes with the required phillips screwdriver and alan wrench that fit all of the screws/bolts. One thing that we were unable to find while researching the treadmill were the measurements when assembled and when folded. They are as follows: 68" long (wall to end) 31" at the widest point 53" at the highest point. When folded: 35"(wall to furthest point 31" at the widest point 54.5" at the highest point. We have only had the treadmill in the house for a few hours, but it has been used three times already for roughly 30 minute periods, and the noise that some complained of is not an issue at all. During the first use I called my wife to let her know that it was up and running and she asked if it was loud. I was walking using the 4 mph setting and she could not hear it running in the background. I will add to this that we have the treadmill on a carpeted floor and tile or hardwood would certainly make a difference. I will post pictures soon.

Great treadmill!
I've had this treadmill for a few weeks now and love it. It's compact enough to fit into a small space yet big enough to work out on. It offers a variety of speed and incline settings, which is great, plus it has a heart rate sensor. I did a lot of research on this before I bought it and decided on this model because it seemed like a great bang for your buck. Sure, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that more expensive treadmills have but do you really need all those extra things? I'd recommend it!

good value/features, easy to assemble, solid construction
Others have covered most of the points I'd emphasize, so here are some brief notes and chime-ins:
- took me, a not-very-mechanical type, about an hour to assemble; holes are not perfectly aligned but you can manage; be advised that the "on" switch is on the bottom left as you look at the machine; lubricating is a hassle, but useful to see how you'll need to do it; company says they'll send you more silicone lubricant if you contact them.
- the hand-grip pulse monitor doesn't work for me at all (held it softly, for at least a minute with both hands, as manual indicates, but it's way off). Be aware though that most thumb and hand monitors don't work great. If you want this info, you might want to get a Polar chest-strap monitor or something similar.
- the manual doesn't indicate what the various preset programs offer (rolling hills, interval training, endurance blast, etc.). You have to figure this out yourself.
- it's quite easy to make up your own interval training on the fly (I use music to vary the tempo); the incline and speeds are changed readily. It's annoying that the timer only accommodates 1-hour intervals.
- there is ample space on the monitor for water, ipod accessories, etc. There's also a little ledge designed for a book if you want to read while walking.
- the machine is quiet and the track is commodious, so you don't have to hang onto the handlebars all the time; there's room (I'm a 5'8" woman) to use handweights to vary your routine and add an upper-body element.
- Works best for the cardio part of my routine (I also have an elliptical machine, a stepper, and a rowing machine, plus free weights). The treadmill enables knee-friendly weight-bearing exercise and it's mindless enough that you can zone out while you're exercising and listen to music, watch tv, or carry on a conversation.
- This treadmill's relatively low clearance (base is about 6" tall) means it works fine in my little low-ceilinged basement gym.
- you might want to set up a standing fan within reach of the treadmill to cool yourself off while you exercise.
- the price is excellent given the features.
- it's quite heavy, so (1) pay for delivery if you want someone to heave this down into your basement or lug it up to the second floor for you (2) consider carting the parts into the room separately (3) SET IT UP WHERE YOU PLAN TO USE IT.
- And while it folds, it's not going to fit under your bed unless your bed's 4' off the floor. ;-)

Not Sure If I Should Have Bought This..
The belt keeps sliding from left to right and vice versa every 5 minutes. Not sure what I can do differently. I'm going to see if I can return it.

Fantastic product and what a deal !
This treadmill is a real gem and the price can't be beat. I decided to buy a manual treadmill because it was less expensive and I won't have to worry about the motor giving out, etc. And I know Stamina makes a good product. It was easy to assemble and I find it as easy to use as a friend's motorized one, to be honest. With sneakers on (naturally), I can't tell the difference. It's also more compact than the treadmills with all the bells and whistles. I highly recommend this product.

TERRIFIC
I ordered this after another manual treadmill I had for a year died. This treadmill is TERRIFIC and far better than the other I had. The monitor works great! The belt stays in place! It's a GREAT workout! I do about 90 minutes a day. It's the best birthday present I've ever given myself!

good but..
delivery was fast, punting it together was also easy. one thing i don't like is that it doesn't really have any resistance the belt moves may to easily just by standing on it

Get it and you'll know why the ones at the gym are 100 times better
Title should say it all. Inclination can't be adjusted, handles are too tall, makes a lot of noise and the button on the display is useless. Assembly was very easy unlike several people complained. If adjusted properly you can reduce the amount of noise but not by much. This is also no good if you live in an apartment complex. Not only it's loud but the whole floor will shake when running on it.
After a few sessions on it I have decided to go to the gym and not worry about any of these problems.

Assembly Problems
I received my T101 from Amazon On Friday (Jan 29) and started to put it together on Sunday. I encountered the same problem as another reviewer, the bolts that secure the console would not thread into the nuts that are welded to the support tube. Actually, one of the four threads easily, the other three are so badly aligned that I cannot even get them started. The assembly instructions ask that you attempt to resolve any problems with their customer support instead of returning the product to the retailer, a good course of action for me since returning such a large, heavy, item to Amazon may be difficult.
I called customer support on Sunday and left a message, called again on Monday and left another message. Got a call back on Tuesday, missed the call but they left a message. You can't call and talk directly to a rep, you call and leave a message, they call you back (it says in two days on their greeting). Finally spoke to a rep, she was very courteous, but said I need to send pictures of the problem, then she would forward to a senior rep who will take over. Yikes. Ok, I took a couple pictures of a bolt in a hole, and created a pdf of the page I was on in the assembly instructions, and sent them all to the email address provided by the rep. Now waiting to hear back. I'll update this review when this is resolved, maybe bump up the stars if I can get it working.
I was tempted to drill out the threads of the nuts, then pass the bolt through and attach with a new nut (and lock washer), but I am reluctant to hack into the thing in case I have to return it for any of the problems encountered by other posters here. I am hoping to hear from Horizon and have them ship a new console to me. It will be difficult to return, but I will if I have to. I won't tolerate a non-working treadmill for weeks on end like another poster has.

Terrible company
The treadmill arrived damaged. I am able to use it and that is good because it has been over a month and I still dont have the part to fix it. If you try to contact them good luck. I have called dozens of times and they never answer the phone. I have emailed dozens of times and they hardly ever reply. They did finally send me the replacement part and it was broke worse than the original. The worst company I have ever dealt with.

Great For the Price
My daughter bought this. We put it together with no problems. All our bolts went right in, thank god. So it took no time at all. The only oddity is the fact that it is crooked, the frame is ...bent?? It affects nothing if you don't fold it, but folding it does cause it to hit the right side hand rail. We don't fold it, so no big deal. It is shockingly quiet. I mean VERY quiet. Her belt is perfect and also whisper quiet when she walks on it or her sister jogs on it. I'm very impressed. The programs are nice. She loves the weightloss one. It takes you through changes in incline and speed every 30 seconds. You can change the intesity with the up and down incline and speed keys. It then changes the workout with the new input to make the workout easier or more intense. This is a great treadmill! Reading reviews of all brands and prices ranging from this to $1500, I figure none are without issues. Even Sole isn't perfect! But the one my daughter bought really is perfect. I'm very happy and so is she. She also purchased a NEW product warranty on it. So we figure we're good for at least 3 years! Delivery was AFP. Really nice delivery man. If anything changes I will update. Horizon customer service is friendly, but takes them at least 3 days to return phone calls. Another reason we went with an outside warranty carrier. NEW answers the phone with a human being!! I would recommend this treadmill. For the price it is outstanding. Just a side note. Moving the treadmill is hard. We have it downstairs which is carpeted. Sucker is not easy to roll. I dread putting it on a treadmill mat. As we have no plans to take it out for a stroll all is still well. ;)

Nice Treadmill, Good Customer Service
My T101 arrived five days early today via Pilot. The box was in good shape with just one punched-in spot so I said, "Bring 'er in".
Unpacking was pretty straightforward, the manual was clear enough, and assembly was not too bad, especially since I'm still in the "Don't lift more than 10 pounds!" stage. There were pieces of black plastic in the box which, I discovered, came from the motor bottom cover. It looks like I can glue it back together easily enough but I'm going to ask them to send me a new one.
I did slightly elongate the top mounting holes on the right side mast with a file. This may not have been necessary, but it was my initial solution to the deck rubbing on the right arm problem. For the ultimate solution see below.
The console proved impossible to mount at first because the bolts wouldn't thread into the captive nuts on the console frame. It wasn't an alignment problem; the nuts wouldn't thread the bolts even with the console removed from the masts. I ran a tap (8mm x 1.25) through the nuts to clean up the threads and removed a lot of metal/paint/whatever; no wonder the bolts wouldn't thread the first time. I should have done the same with the nuts on the frame but they accepted the bolts reasonably well. Not the best quality control, but for $600 I can do a little work on the thing. If I'd shelled out a few thousand I might have been annoyed.
The treadmill works very well for our purposes: me, so I can train for the test that will let me go back to work, my wife so inclement weather won't slow her down. The T101 is sturdy enough for a 175 pounder and everything worked smoothly and quietly. Adjusting the belt after lubrication was a piece of cake. And it's not that big, compared to some of the treadmills I've used in hotels on layovers, so moving it isn't that hard using furniture moving discs like SuperSliders.
If you're prepared to deal with minor assembly glitches, it's a very nice machine for the price.
My solution to the console/mast alignment problem noted in some of the reviews was to loosen all bolts, push the console to the right for equal clearance on both sides, then tighten the bolts. I tightened the four console bolts first, then the left and right sides. The deck no longer rubs on the right arm when raised.
02/10/10: I emailed Horizon customer service two days ago about the broken lower motor cover. Today I received a response from Horizon requesting my address so they can send a replacement. So far, so good.
02/11/10: Horizon customer service emailed me today to say they've ordered the replacement part and will be shipping it out. Seems like they're very reasonably responsive, contrary to some of the comments I've read here.
02/17/10: Received an email from Horizon customer service with the UPS shipping information for the replacement part, which is scheduled to arrive 02/19/10.
02/19/10: Received the replacement bottom motor cover as promised. Installing it isn't a top priority, so I'll hold off for a little while. I'm happy with the treadmill and Horizon's customer service so I bumped my rating up to five stars.

Great machine
I've being using this machine for 15 months and, so far it has performed flawlessly. It is easy to use: turn it on, confirm your weight, confirm the default program (P1), enter the time and hit start. After that, the speed and incline can be change on the fly. The assembly was simple, but I strongly suggest using a real screwdriver (instead of the tool provided) since the bolts are sort of soft and it's possible to strip the bold head. On the con side, the manual is poorly written: 1. the programs are hardly explained, and 2. it does not explain how to lubricate the belt.

Best buy
I bought this because it scored highest on Consumer Reports rankings of folding treadmills. They didn't pick it as a best buy because they bought it for 1500 and the next best was 1300. Well amazon sells this one for 1300. I've had it for almost a year and have yet to have any mechanical problems (I like to wait and see if it breaks down before reviewing it). What I like best about it is that you can change the angle you are going and burn as many calories walking uphill as running level. I don't like that there isn't a book or computer holder in front of you, so I just built a shelf on the wall in front of it and put my laptop on the shelf and watch hulu or netflix while running. I think it is a great product and anyone looking to get some exercise in the privacy of their own home should consider it. I've even thought about getting rid of my couch and putting it in the living room so no one can sit around anymore.

RATED #1 Folding Treadmill in Consumer Report's 2009 Best of Best Awards
I really enjoy using this treadmill. The assembly was easy. It is very easy to operate. It folds upward to give you extra room for yoga, stretching, etc. The look of the machine is very impressive, but not intimidating! This Christmas, members of my family who are normally "couch potatos" used it, including my 78 year old mother who walked 10 MINUTES on the machine and loved it!
I recently discovered that CONSUMER REPORT gave the FOLDING BOWFLEX SERIES 7 TREADMILL it's HIGHEST RATING!!! Unknowingly, I made the best choice, and so will you if you purchase this item!
Much Healthier, Daniel Oliver"
P.S. It was MUCH CHEAPER to buy this product through AMAZON than the BOWFLEX WEBSITE!

Love it!
First, I want to commend CEVA, the shipping company who delivered my treadmill. The guys were scheduled between 4 and 7pm, and called me at 3:30 to ask what time was best for me. I stated 4pm, and they were there precisely at 4. They were courteous, professional and efficient, and they were careful not to scar my walls or floors as they brought it in. I simply could not have been happier. Bravo CEVA!!!!
Second, I love this treadmill. It took me a about an hour and a half to set it up, but I am female and was trying to do it alone. I had to call for backup to get the heavy end of the the machine (the motor end) where I wanted it on the mat, but aside from that setup was a snap. The parts fit together logically (imagine that!), and everything (including tools) were included. They even give you a bottle of lube to get you started with maintenance of the machine. Go for it! You'll love it.

Almost Great
I bought this treadmill right at the new year. I agree with others that, 1) Inside delivery is important unless you have 2 other people to help you; 2)the fans are weak but ok; 3)the sound system is good enough but you can't control the mp3 player through the machine which is a little inconvenient while running; 4)I find the unit very stable (I am 6ft, 190lbs and run for an hour at 7.3). My one negative is that I don't think they do a good job of lubricating the belt/deck very well because there is black dust that accumulates on the floor behind the end of the treadmill. This is obviously from the friction caused from the belt scraping the deck. They do provide you with a tube of lubrication, but the instructions say that this is for future lubrication, not immediate application during initial set-up. The company told me that sometimes this happens when the treadmills sit in the warehouses for long periods before getting delivered, but even so, it seems like a pain that I am going to have to lube the deck myself since I just bought it. I haven't done it yet, but hopefully it is an easy process. (anyone see this same "dust" issue?) But even with that being said, I still think it is a really good treadmill that I would recommend to others.

Awesome treadmill; awesome shipping/assembly deal!
I researched treadmills for MONTHS before finally deciding on a Sole F80. I've been running for about 8 months and ran my first Half Marathon a few months ago. I usually run about 3-4 days per week, 15-25 miles per week. I am an outdoor runner, but this winter has been a doozy and I wanted an option for days that it's too icy to hit the trail. I spent hours reading reviews on Amazon and other treadmill review sites.
A few things I learned, both online and from experienced runners:
1) Most treadmills with < 2.5 Continuous Horse Power (under $999) are NOT made for running - they are designed for walking. If you run more than about 3 miles on a small motor treadmill on a regular basis, you will burn it up. ESPECIALLY is you have more than one user in your household, it will not last.
2) Most treadmills under $999 are made by Icon Fitness, whether they are branded Reebok, Gold's Gym, Weslo, ProForm, etc.
3) Most treadmills come with a 25 yr or lifetime motor warranty. This is because it's not the motor that will fail you. It's the computer that will get fried, from the heat of the adjacent motor that is not designed to handle high speeds for prolonged periods of time. You may get a treadmill for $700, but it will end up costing you $1400 if you have to replace it in a few years.
4) A good warranty is just as important as choosing the right treadmill. Look for something that has at least 2 years parts and labor.
I was torn between the F63 and F80. I finally decided to spend the extra $500 on the F80 for more horsepower, higher weight limit, larger rollers and most importantly, the 2 yr labor + 5 yr parts warranty. I also paid $119 for an additional 2 years on the warranty.
Once I knew the Sole F80 was the treadmill for me, the big question was WHERE to order it. Several reviews here mentioned that Amazon shipped via ABF and the delivery was to your driveway only. I found that SPORTS AUTHORITY was running a free shipping promotion on orders over $99. Additionally, this included 'FREE INSIDE DELIVERY' - defined as: Two men will bring the box into the designated room in your home. THIS is why I ordered from Sports Authority. I'm a DIY (30-something) girl and was confident I could handle the assembly with a bit of lifting help from my husband.
I got a call from ABF to set up a delivery time. Imagine my surprise when the delivery guy showed up and began unpacking the box in my driveway, saying, "The last treamill I put together took about 2 hours. I think this time I can do it in 90 minutes or less." Apparently, this FREE INSIDE SHIPPING was an even better deal than I'd thought! I smiled and nodded and let him go about carrying in all the parts. A second guy showed up to help him carry in the heavy part (the deck) and put it together. They had it completely assembled and tested inside of an hour. They made sure I was comfortable with their work and answered my questions before leaving. They were SUPER professional and nice and treated me like family...and they wouldn't accept a tip! After they left, I looked up ABF on the web and figured out that I'd received what they call 'TURN KEY SERVICE.' All I can say is that I would've PAID $100 for that delivery service and it was completely free.
I've only had the Sole F80 for a few days now, but it is everything I thought it would be. Smooth, quiet, substantial. It feels like the treadmill I use at the gym. The fans don't really do much, but that wasn't a deciding factor for me. I wanted something that will perform consistently for a LONG time and I'm confident that this machine will do just that.
Unexpected bonus: This treadmill is so 'sexy' that my husband has started jogging!

Worth Every Dollar
What a great treadmill. I purchased this direct from Sole to replace a Proform 985 that I had for five or six years. For the past two years I had trouble with the Proform belt. Finally one of the rollers broke and I was forced to replace it.
I tried out the Sole at Dick's Sporting Goods to see what model I wanted. While the F63 is tempting at $500 less than the F80 the difference is night and day. If you just walk or perhaps do some light jogging the F63 may work for you. If you like to run the only way to go is with the F80. It is extremely sturdy and well built. The deck is unbelievable. I tried out several other treadmills in the same price range as the F80 and none felt as good as the Sole. I read many reviews and really put this purchase off for a long time. I should have replaced my old treadmill months ago but $1500 is hard to part with when you have a working piece of equipment.
Assembly was very simple. It only took about forty minutes or so to assemble. I read reviews where people mentioned cutting a wire with a screw while assembling. I could see how it could happen if you were not paying attention but with some care and patience it is easily avoided. The only thing I recommend is paying $100 to have it delivered to any room in your house. I did not do this and really wish I would have. If you are putting it on the first floor that may not be an issue. I have mine in the basement and it was difficult to do. This thing weighs a ton!
To sum it all up. Don't think twice about buying this treadmill. The warranty alone is enough to set your mind at ease. I think I paid around $600 for my old Proform when it was on clearance. It only lasted five or six years. This puppy will last you a lifetime.

Well made, quiet, and Heavy
-We had ours delivered a few weeks ago and delivery time was surprisingly fast. We ordered on Sunday night and it came on Wednesday. This item is VERY heavy so plan on having at least 2 strong guys around to move this thing in. The box was hard to get in our front door so we opened the box outside and everything is easy to just carry in except the deck which is where most of the weight is; I'm guessing 200+pounds. -Assembly was relatively easy and straightforward. I believe it took me about an hour going slow to make sure screws were set straight and now wires were pinched etc...Some reviews complained about the wiring harness being easy to screw into or get pinched and I believe this has been corrected as our unit has plenty of room for the wires and screw shields to protect them as well. -As heavy as this unit is it is very easy to move around. If you have heavy padding and thick carpet it may be a little more difficult due to the weight but we put ours up and out of the way every day. Don't expect to be moving it from room to room every day, but it does move easily in a straight line out to use and back when done. -Not much to add on it's quality and function. It appears very well made and is very quiet. -also in regards to another reviewers concerns about it's electrical needs. I put a meter on ours and ran it at 12mph and raised the deck and the most it pulled was about 900 watts. Normal walking pulls a couple hundred watts and just sitting there it pulls about 4 watts (equal to a night light). So, while you could trip a breaker, a normal 15 or 20 amp circuit should handle this without problems. -I will update this if ours breaks down or we need to contact customer service.

I used a lot of the Amazon reviews to buy my treadmill and I have to say that I'm not disappointed and got exactly what I was looking for. I'm a runner and train all year round for half and full marathons, usually about 35 miles a week. I have run very little on treadmills most recently but was looking to get some relief from the winter snow.
Before reading a lot of the reviews and research, I found the consumer reports rated the Bowflex series 7.0 to be the recommended buy. However, after reading further comparisons and reviews it was obvious that although slightly cheaper, the Sole F80 had a much better warranty. My bottom line was that I needed a 3.0 hp motor and good warranty in the $1500 range. The Sole F80 falls perfectly within that criteria and gives you the most for your money.
Some highlights of the positive:
- The deck is definitely well cushioned - The motor is very quiet - The display is quite simple to use - The fans are fairly mild but it's better than nothing! - Price is very competitive - Like other reviewers commented, the set up and assembly is a snap but you have to take your time. The only complaint is that when you are connecting the console, it doesn't specify that you should re-feed the wires under the bottom of the handrails before fixing the console. You quickly find this out when installing the handrail guard covers but have to be sure not to pinch the wires throughout this process. Also, using the "lube" that comes with the kit is recommended as it could be easy to miss threads and strip the threads!
- If you're a runner: - This unit goes up to 12 mph (5:00 min pace) (whereas a lot of units only go up to about 10 mph (6:00 min pace) which can be limiting for some people's interval workouts. - There's an auto pilot feature to control your heart rate at a target. This can be really useful for tempo workouts.
Some of the bad:
- The delivery is a little self service through Amazon (not sure how it is for Sole direct delivery). You get "inside service" which was in the doorway and out of the rain. - I needed a lot of help (one guy) getting this into the basement (not sure if/how I'll ever get it out) - The heart rate monitor is not as comfortable as my garmin heart monitor. Oh well, this is a great feature so I can't really complain. - Other reviewers commented that it's hard to tell what all the various programs do. It could be more transparent but I'll try to look on the Sole website - I believe one other person commented on this.
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and I hope that it will be useful for the whole family for years to come!

Questions & Answers
Question : Are you supposed to run or walk on treadmills?
I know you can do both. But I was wondering for at the gym... I usually walk on the treadmills there, because when I run I'm self conscious that I'm making to much noise when I put my feet back up and down super fast on the spinny thing.
Answer:
You're suppose to make noise at the gym. Get you run on girl and don't worry about making noise. Bring your ipod and crank up the tunes so you can't hear yourself if you freak out over the noise. At my gym everyone is running, everyone is making noise, everyone is grooving to the cardio beat. Relax and Just Do It!

Question : Is it better to do the workout programs on treadmills or just run?
You know how treadmills have "weight loss programs" or "aerobic programs"? Will you lose more weight faster by doing one of those or just simply running on a treadmill?
Answer:
OK, ignore the spammer above me. Those gimmicks never work and prey on peoples desire to lose weight easily, if they do work, it will be short term and the weight will come back as soon as you stop.Either will work, the programs might push you a little harder than you'll push yourself though. Just make sure to spend no less than 30 minutes on the treadmill, at a speed that will keep your heart rate up steadily. Spend no more than 1 hour on a treadmill either. This includes a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down. You need to make sure to do this when you run too. For weight loss you also need to watch your diet as well. That means eating enough just as it means not eating too much. If you don't get enough calories your body will burn muscle instead of fat.EDIT: Shaun is ok, the first answerer is the spammer, in case no one noticed.

Question : What is the best treadmill out there for top speed? Are there any treadmills for sprinting?
I've been trying to find a FAST treadmill, and the ones I've been searching through get very expensive but seem to top out at 12mph. They come with all kinds of gadgets and programs that I don't care for. I just need something faster, doesn't any company make a treadmill for sprinting? I'm hoping for one that can push around 20mph. Do they even exist? This is 2007 for Pete's sake.
Answer:
Maybe you should try an ellipitcal machine. It will give you less stress on your body and especially the joints. Visit Precor.com. I think they have the best machine out there.

Question : How good are motorised treadmills & what areas do they target?
Im getting a motorised treadmill in a couple of weeks, i just want to know how good they really are and what areas of the body do they target?Im wanting to loose weight & tone these areas: bum, thighs and belly. Would i benefit from using a treadmill. Also, how long would be suitable for me to use the treadmill for when im a first time user? And how soon would i benefit/see the changes?
Answer:
1. They don't target anything. The purpose of a treadmill is to allow running indoors without tripping over furniture and wearing out the carpet. Outdoors is better, but at times weather and lack of sunlight get in the way. 2. If you're trying to get rid of fat, that is done by eating less than you require to fuel daily activities. A treadmill can be used to increase your fuel requirements. The fat comes off everywhere. Excess fat on thighs and stomach cannot be targeted. Exercise has no direct effect on fat overlaying the muscles used. 3. Running on a treadmill exercises almost all the muscles below the waist. That's a lot of large muscles, and that's why its so effective burning calories. 4. How long and how fast is up to you and what condition you're in to start. Standard recommendation is to increase distance no mor than 10% per week to avoid injury.5. How soon? Impossible to say, but don't expect miracles overnight. You'll notice improvement in endurance and strength within a few weeks, if you use it daily for a significant amount of time. Weight loss? That has more to do with what you put in your mouth. Exercise helps, but you still have to watch the calories.

Question : can any advise me that what is the import duty of treadmills from china to india?
I want to import Treadmills from china to India and pls tell what is import duty of this product.
Answer:
You should consider looking for Indian-made treadmills. China makes a lot of money from people like you and they really don't need it. You ultimately do not save money when you buy from China. The government is forced to spend more on defense and less on development to counter Chinese military aggression that is indirectly funded by Indian consumers. And Indian manufacturers are forced to layoff workers. China continues to humiliate us and tell their people that they sell these things to us because we are inferior and cannot make them on our own. The only reason why they are so cheap is because they steal the technology so they do not have to recover R&D costs. You also do not know what you are getting from the Chinese. For example they have made fake medicines that say "Made in India" and exported them abroad to make money, ruin our brand names, and hurt poor Africans who rely on lifesaving drugs made by our great firms like Ranbaxy. They also gave nukes to Pakistan and gave equipment and diplomatic protection to the Mumbai terrorists. You should read some of the "People's Daily" articles about India. They are hateful and the netizen comments are even worse. Please reconsider and think about your country. Chinese people hate India and laugh at us. They have also destroyed the temples of the Tibetans and forced Muslim Uighur children to eat pork at school during Ramadan to de-Islamize them and make them more Chinese. And because they buy oil and give nukes to Pakistan, most Muslim countries are silent about the oppression. On the other hand there are countries who have been good to India and to minorities. If you buy products that are made in the EU, Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, or the USA you will ultimately help India and its allies. I am an Indian-American and I assure you that America treats us very well, unlike Australia, and US politicians and the US public overwhelmingly favor backing India in a war against China. Customers will also appreciate the better quality of non-Chinese goods, especially those from the USA, EU, Japan, and Korea. Consider buying or wholesaling Indian-made treadmills. Indians take pride in their craft and many reputable international companies are manufacturing in India. Or if you specifically prefer the import business you could consider any of the other countries. Treadmills made in Vietnam will be competitive in price and have good quality. Taiwan also makes many treadmills and it is a democratic country that has excellent relations with India and it would still be a bargain. Please consider your country. We Indians will have to stop taking shortcuts if we want to see a developed India that can be a democratic world superpower. Please think about what you are doing here, do it for India. Thank you and Jai Hind!

Question : How accurate are the calorie counters on treadmills and cardio equipment?
Any ideas on how accurate the counters are on treadmills and other cardio equipment at the gym? My gym uses Precor equipment and I always wonder how close the display is to the actual calories I'm burning. Obviously it's probably a little closer if you put in your age and weight, but what about basic muscle mass and body composition?
Answer:
They are totally just a toy added feature with no accuracy. They assume everyone burns energy at the same rate which isn't right. It comes down to your own individual bodies chemical composition and reactions. Do your exercise everyday and use digital scales to keep an approximate record. And obviously eat a balanced diet.
